Aishwarya Rai's sister-in-law Shrima Rai reacts to rumours of disliking the PS 2 actor: 'It's not your...'

While Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai’s divorce rumours have been making rounds for quite some time, the latter’s sister-in-law Shrima Rai has landed in an unexpected controversy.

Social media users dug out a family pic of Shrima comprising her husband Aditya Rai, their children, and Aditya’s mother Brindya Rai, who is also Aishwarya Rai’s mother.

While several media users were surprised to know that she is related to Aishwarya, one netizen commented, “I never knew you were Aishwarya’s sister-in-law until your recent pictures." Shrima responded to the comment and wrote, “Good, I want you to see me for me."

Well, this exchange of words was blown out of proportion on Reddit as it led to the speculation that Shrima doesn’t like Aishwarya and that’s why she doesn’t post pictures with her or her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

Reacting to the controversy, Shrima shared a screenshot, where the original commenter apologisedto  her. In the message, the commenter said, “I’m extremely sorry, Shrima, if I have hurt you in any way. My comment was just a sudden reaction on knowing that you guys are related. But media has really added up so much masala, and my comment has been shown in the wrong way. Why would I accuse anyone of anything? It’s your life, and it’s completely up to you what to post and what not to. Many respects their privacy and keeps personal life in private. I respect and adore you a lot. You have your own identity, and I respect that. Best wishes for you always."

She responded to the comment in a polite way and wrote, “It’s not your fault."

Recently, she also shared a statement clarifying unverified rumours on Reddit and wrote, “Facts. My birthday was November 21, and as usual, flowers were sent. I thanked everyone with a shout-out. Before I became a blogger/content creator, I was a banker in Wealth Management for several years. I have also been a Gladrags Mrs. India Globe 2009. Post-2017, I transitioned into blogging. I have NEVER tried to open any business with anyone’s name. I am clarifying things because these are facts. I have built an independent career as a content creator for years on my own, and as a woman, I find it in poor taste for anyone to try to tear that fact down. For this, my husband, mother-in-law, and parents can vouch. As a mother, it is extremely important to me that facts are clear when my name is involved.”
