While Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday starrer Saiyaara has turned out to be a monstrous blockbuster at the box office, ever since its release, there have been reports that it is a copy of the Korean movie A Moment To Remember. However, the writer of the movie Sankalp Sadanah dismissed the news and clarified that it is not a copy of any movie.
“Honestly, so much has already been said about this. All I can say is—the Korean film is out there, and so is Saiyaara. Watch both and judge for yourself. You’ll be able to tell whether it’s inspired, a copy, or an original," Sankalp said while talking to Komal Nahta.
And now, the team, that reportedly celebrated the film’s success in Singapore, celebrated it all over again in Mumbai. The ‘Saiyaara’ actor gave a kiss on his actress’ forehead as they celebrated the success of their film. Also in attendance was the captain of the ship Mohit Suri.
Netizens were quickly reminded of Aashiqui 2 stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor who created the same moment years ago.
The writer revealed that the seed of _Saiyaara_ came during a casual meeting with Mohit Suri and recalled, “It was raining when we came back from a meeting. As I was about to leave, Mohit asked me to stay back and listen to something. He shared an idea and asked me if it was worth building into a film."
“That discussion gave birth to the core of Saiyaara. At that time, there was no story, no screenplay—just a feeling. The seed of the film came from a single emotional thought, a line that appears in the film: ‘A hit song isn’t the one that stays in your head; it’s the one that stays in your heart.’ That was the emotion we built everything else around," he added.
