Actor Rahul Dev finally breaks silence on what caused his brother Mukul Dev's death: 'He had lost interested in life and...'

Bollywood actor Mukul Dev, who featured in films like Yamla Pagla Deewana, R…Rajkumar & Son of Sardaar among others, passed away at the age of 54. The news came out on May 24.

His Son of Sardaar costar Vindu Dara Singh confirmed the news to India Today and said, “After his parent’s death, Mukul was keeping to himself. He would even step out of the house or meet anyone. His health deteriorated in the last few days and he was in the hospital. My condolences to his brother and everyone who knew and loved him. He was an amazing person, and we will all miss him.”

Now, his brother Rahul Dev has broken silence on what caused his brother’s death. The actor was quoted saying to Times of India, “He was in the ICU for eight and a half days. Medically, it was a result of poor eating habits. In the last four-five days, he had stopped eating altogether.”

He added, “Of course, he felt lonely, and he had lost interest in life…He would turn down several work offers… Only now, after completing all the rituals, is the reality sinking in - and I know the pain will only deepen.”

Dev also said, “The people who are speaking out now weren’t even in touch with him. They say he was unfit, but he ran half-marathons. Yes, he had gained weight - when someone stops caring about themselves, it shows… Who really stayed in touch with him between 2019 and 2024? Did they visit him when he was in the hospital or attend his prayer meet?”
