While the film created a major stir, its spiritual sequel Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, released this year, focused on the larger cause of spreading awareness about persons with disabilities.

Taare Zameen Par was a film that deeply impacted society, and Sitaare Zameen Par has done the same by leaving a profound mark, so much so that the Supreme Court has ordered social media influencers to host persons with disabilities.

Real cinema is the kind that leaves an impact on society, and _Sitaare Zameen Par_ has proved its mettle in doing exactly that. Following the Samay Raina verdict, the Supreme Court has ordered him and four other social media influencers to host persons with disabilities at least twice a month on their online platforms and at public events, with the aim of raising awareness and funds for children with rare disorders such as Spinal Muscular Atrophy. As per the Court, the move was intended to turn controversy into constructive action, after taking serious note of a video in which the comedians mocked people with disabilities.

According to reports published in TCO news, the Supreme Court referenced to Sitaare Zameen Par- A film that spotlights the importance of disability inclusion. The bench highlighted how the film has “re-energized conversations around disability in homes, schools, and workplaces,” underscoring cinema’s role in driving policy and public empathy. This citation was seen as a subtle endorsement of art’s potential to influence judicial and social reforms.

The timing of the order passed by the Supreme Court for Samay Raina and other stand-ups has coincided with the discussions that have happened around Sitaare Zameen Par and the narrative it establishes.

Aamir Khan Productions proudly presented 10 rising stars: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, who previously helmed the barrier-breaking blockbuster Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, now returns with the biggest collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions’ Sitaare Zameen Par.

The lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written By Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka as producers. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film released in theatres on 20th June, 2025.
