2024 Critics Choice Awards: 'Oppenheimer' leads with eight wins; 'Barbie' comes close with six

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was a big winner at the 2024 Critics Choice Award followed by Greta Garwig’s Barbie. The 29th Critics Choice Awards took place on Sunday and the winners’ list is finally out. Oppenheimer bagged eight trophies, including Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor; Barbie, too, came out with flying colours, winning in six categories, the Best Comedy and Best Song awards. There were also a few surprises on the television side with shows like The Bear, Succession, and Beef taking multiple awards. In a surprising turn of events at the ceremony, the Best Actress award went to Emma Stone for her performance in Poor Things, while Paul Giamatti received the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in The Holdovers. Hosted by Chelsea Hanndler, the star-studded ceremony also witnessed some iconic moments like Harrison Ford and America Ferrara receiving a Career Achievement Award and SeeHer Award respectively for their impactful contributions to the industry.
