1922 trailer: Stephen King's novella set in rural America gets haunting Netflix adaptation

“I believe there’s another man, inside every man — a conniving man,” says a farmer with a characteristic Southern drawl. Set against the backdrop of rural America, 1922, based on Stephen King’s novella of the same name, tells the story of this farmer, who put his land and his son above everything else. His house is infested with rats and his walls begin crumbling, but that is far from the worst he must face. Protagonist Wilfred James is played by Thomas Jane, who has previously appeared in the film adaptations of King’s Dreamcatcher and The Mist. Molly Parker plays his wife Arlette. It has been written and directed by Zak Hilditch. This year has seen the release of three adaptations of King’s works — Netflix’s Gerald’s Game , Andy Muschietti’s It, and The Dark Tower starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. It has been declared the highest grossing horror film, and the most successful adaptation of King’s works. The It sequel will release on 6 September 2019. The production process for three of the author’s othe r works — short story Suffer the Little Children, Firestarter and Castle Rock — are also due to start. 1922 is slated to release on 20 October.
