Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday in her eighth consecutive Union Budget announced the Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojna, a partnership with states aimed at boosting productivity in 100 districts. The scheme will benefit 1.7 crore farmers, fostering rural prosperity and creating opportunities that make migration an option, not a necessity.
The budget comes as India faces a four-year-low growth rate of 6.4% and rising calls for tax relief amid slowing consumption. This marks the second budget of the BJP-led NDA government’s third term.
