It appears that the San-Francisco-based Uber is teaming up with dining and travel apps to park itself at the heart of mobile lifestyle. The idea is that after people make hotel or dinner reservations online, they can easily arrange for Uber cars to get them to their rooms or restaurants. Booking a comfortable yet affordable room, getting their conveniently and ordering something to eat just got easier with a tie-up between taxi aggregator Uber, food delivery platform Foodpanda, and budget hotel chain ZO Rooms. The new partnership, which will be announced today, gives travellers a free Uber ride up to Rs 500 and 50% off on coupons on Foodpanda orders. Travellers will also receive 100% cash back once they check in to any one of the 150+ properties ZO Rooms currently holds in 13 cities. ZO Rooms is a low-budget hotel chain that enables users to book affordable rooms through a mobile-app which geo-detects a location and books into the nearest Zo Rooms available at a single touch. Currently Zo Rooms is available in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Mumbai. “Uber is all about providing seamless experiences at the push of a button. We are excited to partner with ZO Rooms and now Foodpanda to provide travellers unparalleled convenience on-the-go Advanced smart technology is ensuring we complete the travel loop: Stay. Eat. Globally, Uber has already tied up with several businesses such as Starbucks, Hyatt Hotels, United Airlines, TripAdvisor and restaurant reservation service OpenTable make it simple for people to summon Uber cars from their applications for smartphones or tablet computers. And just last month, Uber tied up with online restaurant guide Zomato to enable users to book cabs to the restaurant they are planning to eat at. In fact Uber has also stepped into the international meal delivery wars with the start of UberEATS in Barcelona and UberFresh in Las Angeles— food delivery for lunch and dinner that will arrive in 10 minutes or less. Both services offer a curated list of dishes from select restaurants, and the options change on a weekly basis.
