Author Chetan Bhagat’s new novel, a love story, is due for release this October and the book is available for pre-orders on the e-commerce website Flipkart.

Bhagat, who is considered a bestseller, today took to twitter to announce the upcoming book along with a short video teaser. “Hi all! Happy to announce my next book titled “Half Girlfriend”,” he wrote.

The video teaser posted by Bhagat on both twitter and Facebook says, “Madhav didn’t speak English well. Riya did. Madhav wanted a relationship. Riya didn’t. Riya just wanted friendship. Madhav didn’t. Riya suggested a compromise. She agreed to be his half-girlfriend.”

Some time after making the announcement, Bhagat also tweeted about how his website had crashed.

“My site has crashed. Will be up soon. Meanwhile you can watch the “Half Girlfriend” teaser directly on youtube,” wrote the 40-year-old author.

An investment banker-turned-novelist, Bhagat’s books have been adapted for the big screen.

His “Five Point Someone” was adapted into the blockbuster “3 Idiots” starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. He also scripted the screenplay for the recent Salman Khan starrer film “Kick”. “Revolution 2020” was his last book.

Meanwhile the paperback “Half Girlfriend” published by Rupa is available for pre-orders at Rs 149.
