Forex dealers said dollar weakness against the euro and other currency rivals overseas and a higher opening in the domestic stock market supported the Indian rupee’s rise.
The rupee rose by 30 paise to close at a one-week high of Rs 51.95/96 against the dollar in the previous session on fresh dollar-selling by exporters.
Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark Sensex was up by 98.37 points, or 0.61 per cent, at 16,068.76 in opening trade today.
