Nashik: With the arrival of latest onion production still one month away, the prices of the bulb are up at the several Agriculture Produce Market Committees (APMCs) in the district.

At Lasalgaon APMC, the prices ranged from 2,116 per quintal to Rs 1,100 per quintal. The average price was Rs 2,025 per quintal.
At Pimpalgaon Baswant APMC, maximum price was 2,173 per quintal, the average price 2,025 per quintal. At Umrane APMC, maximum price was Rs 2,200 per quintal, the average price Rs 1,950 per quintal. In Devla, maximum price was Rs 2,119 per quintal, the average price Rs 1,975 per quintal.
At Mungse, it was 2,067 per quintal, average Rs 2,000 per quintal.
The below-average rainfall in the district in the last two years resulted in shrinking of the area under onion cultivation, sources said.
At present, the stored stocks are coming to the market, they added.
