Wipro Wins e-Governance Contract From ESIC

Wipro Infotech, the India and Middle East IT Business of Wipro Ltd has announced that it has been awarded an outsourcing contract from Employees State Insurance Corporation(ESIC). ESIC is a statutory corporation, under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India (GoI).

Wipro has been selected to implement ESIC’s Project Panchdeep which is aimed at improving healthcare services to its beneficiaries, by providing online facilities to employers and insured people for registration, payment of premium and disbursement of cash benefits. Other modules will provide HR, Finance and General Administration programs for increasing the organisational efficiency. The ambitious project was mandated by ESI Act 1948 with a focus on creating a medicare backbone for the marginalised sections of society.

The five parts of this national importance project are termed as Pehchan, Milap, Pashan, Dhanwantri and Pragati which include identification of more than one crore subscribers and their family members covered under ESIC, connecting all locations of ESIC (1Head Office, 51 Regional /Sub Regional / Divisional Offices, 620 Branch Offices, 144 Hospitals, 1388 Dispensaries and State Directorates), Datacentre / Disaster recovery, Hospital Information Management System, ERP and maintenance respectively.
