Wipro Technologies has announced the adoption of the Run SAP methodology for implementation in its application management services and hosting operations. This operations methodology is designed to complement SAP Enterprise Support, which enables companies to optimise the implementation and ongoing management of end-to-end solutions.
The Run SAP methodology helps customers beyond the go-live phase and focuses on application management, business process operations and administration. Wipro is among the first SAP partners to adopt Run SAP. This methodology will help IT and business process experts harness their IT landscapes and better implement their enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) strategies. As an early adopter, Wipro will also have an opportunity to help shape this methodology and play a key role in the direction of the next-generation applications management offering for SAP customers.
“Run SAP will provide our clients with lower cost and reduced risk through standardised tools and methodologies, as well as greater agility to manage and innovate their SAP platforms,” said Sangita Singh, senior vice president, Wipro Technologies. “Its preconfigured operations approach bridges the gap between technical and functional components of an implementation and guides customers through different operations, handover to production and optimisation of the system. As our clients’ business partner, Wipro’s adoption of the Run SAP methodology globally will enable us to compete more effectively in the enterprise applications market.”
Wipro is offering Run SAP to clients either as FlexDelivery – an outcome-based delivery model handling variability in work volume that is typical in application maintenance engagements - or as a standalone implementation.
“We are pleased that Wipro intends to strengthen its long-standing relationship with SAP by adopting the Run SAP methodology,” said Dr Uwe Hommel, executive vice president, SAP AG. “Wipro will be among the first SAP partners to adopt the end-to-end solution operations approach provided by Run SAP into its application management services and hosting operations.”
The adoption of Run SAP will give Wipro access to SAP-developed tools in the global support backbone, including training, services, operations methodology and mission-critical support components. Over the next couple of months, Wipro plans to build the end-to-end solution capabilities into its Application Management Services organisation and intends to become SAP-certified in the Run SAP methodology.
