VMware, Inc., the virtualisation and cloud infrastructure company, has announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2012 Magic Quadrant for x86 Server Virtualisation Infrastructure.
According to Gartner, “Virtualisation penetration has surpassed 50 percent of all server workloads, and it continues to grow.” The report continues: “The x86 server virtualisation infrastructure market is the foundation for two extremely important market trends that relate and overlap: infrastructure modernisation and cloud computing. Virtualisation is a fundamental enabler to IaaS, and will be used to establish private cloud services, public cloud services and interoperable hybrid cloud services.”
