VMware has announced the appointment of T Srinivasan as managing director (MD) of VMware India. In this role, Srinivasan is also responsible for markets under the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), which includes Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Srinivasan is responsible for running all aspects of VMware’s business operations – including sales, marketing, services and channels – in India and the SAARC economies. Srinivasan reports directly to Andrew Dutton, head of VMware’s Asia Pacific and Japan organisation.
Srinivasan joins VMware from Oracle India, where he was vice president of Technology Sales. In this role, he was responsible for managing the company’s technology sales business and leading a large team of sales, pre-sales and alliance professionals.
Srinivasan brings more than 28 years of sales and management experience in the IT industry to his new role with VMware. He has extensive knowledge of the Indian IT market, having previously held senior management positions with Informatica, HP Software India, Mercury, EMC, Wipro and HCL in India.
“Srinivasan brings deep understanding of the local market, combined with a strong record in building customer and partner relationships, and success in driving business results,” said Dutton. “I am confident that Srinivasan’s leadership will accelerate VMware’s ability to realise its full potential in the Indian marketplace.”
Srinivasan is based in Bangalore.
