Digital marketing company WebChutney has been instrumental in designing several viral ads and providing multi-platform user interfaces, interactive application development, technical program management, data analysis, customer relationship management and advisory services to its clients.
Founded in 1999 with a handful of people, WebChutney managed to clock 100 percent y-o-y growth and its success journey would have continued, had the company not hit some roadblocks in the process. WebChutney was facing several issues of after-sales support with its previous hosting provider and those concerns were further amplified with downtime, security issues and outdated technology being used in the server room.
At that point, WebChutney started hunting for a new vendor, which could put an end to its miseries and provide managed and virtual dedicated server solutions for its IT infrastructure. WebChutney zeroed in on NaviSite, a respectable name in the enterprise-class dedicated hosting line of business.
Why NaviSite?
Considering that WebChutney had already burnt its fingers by initially choosing a wrong technology partner for its IT infrastructure, how did they narrow down on NaviSite at this point? “Several factors contributed to the selection of NaviSite, including their reputation as an experienced provider of enterprise-class dedicated hosting solutions, a long history of excellence, and their broad portfolio of solutions that met our requirements,” says Rahul Nanda, COO, WebChutney.
WebChutney was also conscious of wanting good after-sales service, which turned out to be one of the key strengths of NaviSite. “Most importantly, NaviSite’s exceptional customer care with a promise of 24x7 support was one of the key reasons why we selected them,” adds Nanda.
After careful evaluation of the product portfolio, blade servers were selected as they feature redundant power supplies. The same were hosted at one of NaviSite’s premier data centres. All servers feature Intel Quad-Core CPUs, expandable RAM and hard drives, generous bandwidth allotments and multiple high-speed connections to the Internet.
Phases of Implementation
NaviSite was conscious of the client’s demand and went through a number of phases of evaluation before implementing the final solution. The main ones among these were:
1. Customer Requirements and Specifications Review
2. Proposal and Solution Acceptance by Client
3. NaviSite Server Build Outs/ Customisation/ Networking
4. Server Turnover
5. Migration and On-boarding Assistance
Challenges
Being in a dynamic and creative business environment like online digital marketing, WebChutney had some specific configuration requirements with respect to the solution being deployed. NaviSite was successfully able to weed out the challenges in conjugation with engineers from WebChutney. No other major challenge was encountered during the implementation process.
Benefits
In today’s globalised and fast-paced work environment, companies are not only looking to outsource their IT infrastructure, but also expect a comprehensive IT approach to realise their business objectives. Sumeet Sabharwal, SVP-Dedicated Hosting, NaviSite, says, “NaviSite’s approach is to provide its clients with the highest level of customer service and continuously raise the bar.”
After shifting to NaviSite’s managed dedicated servers, WebChutney was also able to enhance the value proposition offered to clients. “In the past, clients weren’t really interested in back-end systems, but today clients demand more visibility and have higher expectations on the IT infrastructure responsiveness front. The NaviSite move has helped us to provide an additional level of confidence to our customers,” says Nanda.
The Future
While WebChutney has already invested a sizeable amount of its budget to implement managed dedicated and virtual dedicated solutions, it does plan to further upgrade its IT services in the months to follow.
