V. Subramaniam has been promoted as Director – IT & CIO for OTIS (Asia Pacific Area) from the position of Director – IT and CIO (India & Gulf Area). As part of his new role he will be leading and managing 15 entities including India, Japan, South Korea, Sigma China (Dalian), Australasia, South East Asia (Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia…) and Hong Kong. With his promotion the entity CIOs and IT managers will be reporting to him. Subramaniam will now be reporting to Otis Asia Pacific Area President.
Subramaniam, who has over 25 years of extensive business IT leadership experience, has been associated with Otis (a United Technologies Company) for over two years and five months. Before joining Otis, he was managing IT at Marico Industries Ltd. where he worked on initiatives around Business Applications and Infrastructure, which included connecting key locations of Marico. He later moved on to Indfos Industries Limited (Formerly Known as Danfoss), where he was managing business-driven IT initiatives including MRP II (including TQM principles like JIT) and enterprise systems.
With over two decades of experience, he has led teams globally through Business-IT Integration - Enterprise Systems / Applications, IT Governance (Controls and Compliance), LEAN IT, Measurement of IT (Control Tower & Metrics), Quality Systems (ACE, TQM), Web Services & Portals, Shared Services. He has also been extensively involved in integration of new businesses (M&A), Business Restructuring, Business Ethics and Compliance, Service Excellence and IT Planning and Budgeting - specialising in cost optimisation initiatives.
Most recently, Subramaniam was awarded the CIO Master & CIO Grand Master (Data Centre) by Biztech2.com. He is also a visiting faculty at various prestigious institutes.
