Unisys Announces Smart On-Site Services

Unisys has launched its Unisys Smart On-Site Services offering, a services solution designed to help enterprise clients reduce information technology (IT) support service costs by up to 20 percent.

With the Smart On-Site Services offering, Unisys consolidates management of technology support activities frequently performed by multiple providers. This simplifies management and lowers costs by establishing a single point of accountability and responsiveness while supporting geographically distributed organisations, including branches, small offices and mobile employees’ home offices.

Sam Gross, vice president, IT Outsourcing Solutions, Unisys, says, “The Unisys Smart On-Site Services offering provides a single point of management and accountability for all site-support needs, leveraging a global service capability that regional providers often don’t have and supporting client locations across the world. Organisations can do more with less, while maximising technology availability and enhancing employee productivity.”

The Unisys offering makes use of advanced knowledge, automation and logistics tools to tailor and manage IT support services. In effect, the solution leverages Unisys service-management platform, which gathers information about the client, the site, each supported device and the support requirement. This capability enables thorough first-time resolution of service incidents and reduces associated delivery costs. Through the use of historical and predictive analysis, the solution enables clients to anticipate and resolve potential equipment problems before they lead to potentially costly downtime or service events.

The Unisys Smart On-Site Services offering leverages automated service capabilities of multiple lower-cost channels. These channels include the Web, self-service portals, e-mail and phone with multiple-language support. The power of the solution can be extended in combination with the recently announced Unisys Converged Remote Infrastructure Management offering, which provides enterprises with an integrated way to view and manage their IT infrastructure.

All of these capabilities increase the opportunity for service events to be resolved remotely, reducing potential costs from dispatching service personnel. If the service event does require an on-site resolution, a service representative from Unisys with the required skills will be dispatched to meet service-level requirements.

Unisys Smart On-Site Services is built on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standard to support integration and management of services delivered by Unisys, the client’s retained IT personnel or alternate third-party contractors. This standardisation enables consistent global support and user experience anywhere in the world.
