Tulip Telecom Bags Madhya Pradesh SWAN Project

Tulip Telecom Bags Madhya Pradesh SWAN Project

Tulip Telecom (Tulip), a data telecom service provider, has been awarded the Madhya Pradesh State Wide Area Network Project. The network will be established on the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model. Total value of the current component of the bid that has been awarded to Tulip is Rs 95 crore. Tulip will deploy, manage and operate the entire network for a period of five years as per the agreement signed between MP State Electronics Development Corporation and Tulip.

The scope of the project includes supply and installation of network equipment across the state, as well as operation and maintenance of the project for a period of five years. The network supports data, voice and video, and will enable the state to implement various e-governance initiatives. With this project, the state of Madhya Pradesh aims to strengthen its position under the national e-governance plan of the Government of India.

This will be a total IP network based on open standards and having scalability. It is planned to meet the present and future requirements of the government of Madhya Pradesh. On completion of this project, the government will have an integrated backbone for common citizen services, online monitoring of performance of various promotional schemes, integration of databases of various government departments, unified communication, etc.

Lt Col H S Bedi, VSM, CMD, Tulip Telecom, said, “Tulip is delighted to be a part of the national e-governance plan of Government of India (NeGP) and we look forward to the successful deployment of the Madhya Pradesh SWAN.”

Anurag Shrivastava, managing director, Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC), said, “We are glad to award Tulip Telecom with the responsibility of setting up the State Wide Area Network of Madhya Pradesh. We have trusted Tulip as our partner for this mission after extensive evaluation of its strengths and its technical and commercial offer. The SWAN will enable the government to deliver various e-governance services to the citizens of MP and will allow transparent and quick decision making within the state”. ( www.moneycontrol.com)
