ThoughtWorks Announces Early Access Of Testing Platform Twist

ThoughtWorks, an IT consulting and software company, has announced the immediate availability (in Early Access mode) of Twist, an automated functional testing platform and the latest addition to their Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) suite for software teams. This availability will enable business experts, testers and developers (i.e., everyone on a project team) to collaborate and write software aligned with business intent and needs.

Twist drives the development of re-usable test suites that are easily maintainable throughout the software development lifecycle – allowing businesses to get the maximum RoI they make in building test suites. It enables business experts to define acceptance criteria in English-like language, increases tester productivity with an editor and gives developers early feedback on product quality.

Chad Wathington, VP – Product Development for ThoughtWorks Studios said, "We've learnt that many teams lack the tool support, know-how and business collaboration required to accomplish testing effectively, even though it is a crucial part of the development process."

He added, "Twist helps teams build automated test suites in a language their business users understand. It allows everyone in a team to engage in the testing process while ensuring that production software meets business requirements. The Twist Early Access offers progressive teams an early glimpse of functional testing tools."

Twist provides a rich environment for authoring, executing and maintaining large test suites. It improves team productivity with Integrated Development Environment (IDE) features, like refactoring, html reporting, and automatic code generation.

ThoughtWorks is offering a free 60-day trial of the Twist Early Access (on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux) in a beta mode.
