HP has announced a powerful telecom software that can help service providers tap Web 2.0 to spark growth in wireless revenue.
The HP Service Delivery Platform (HP SDP) now includes a virtual “sandbox” in which developers can create new web-based applications (apps), widgets and mash-ups on the service provider’s wireless network. The new technologies in HP SDP 3.0 make service creation easy, fast and rewarding for independent developers.
HP SDP 3.0 now includes specific resources to handle micro transactions, manage revenue streams and help service providers build a successful revenue sharing business model.
“Service providers are much better positioned to tap the new Web 2.0 revenue opportunities with HP SDP 3.0,” said Kapil Kaul, Country Manager, Communications and Media Solutions, HP Software & Solutions. “Leading service providers know that SDPs must now be enriched with vibrant service creation ecosystems. Creative application developers are the key, and HP SDP 3.0 is designed to attract armies of them.”
HP is working with developers and apps store vendors to help bring applications to the service providers.
New HP SDP 3.0 components ease application development and includes the following features:
- HP SDP Service Governance RESTFul Gateway
- HP SDP Revenue Management Module
- HP SDP Service Orchestration Manager
- HP SDP Storefront Portal
