SIU, SunGard Collaborate To Create Digital Campus Environment

Symbiosis International University (SIU), a leading Indian university comprised of 42 institutions, has selected SunGard Higher Education, a global provider of higher education software and technology services, to help develop and maintain global standards of excellence in teaching and learning.

SIU is collaborating with SunGard Higher Education to create a digital campus environment which includes SunGard’s Banner Student and Luminis Platform software solutions. These solutions are tailored to help the institutions streamline their administrative processes and provide enhanced learning resources to students and faculty members.

“As a host to over 27,000 Indian and international on campus students and over 100,000 students off campus, information technology is critical to SIU’s strategic objectives. Specifically, the solution will provide 24/7 online access to campus resources and information. A community portal and collaboration platform will be deployed to help SIU students communicate with faculty members and gain access to learning resources. Students will be able to search and register for modules, as well as retrieve relevant data online, while faculty members can easily manage course information, rosters, grading and advise students from a remote location. In addition, prospective students will be able to apply online for admissions.

SunGard is providing these services to Symbiosis through a unique collaboration with hosting provider NetMagic, which provides services from four Internet datacentres.
