Sify Technologies’ partnership with VMware will allow the expansion of the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP) in India. It will also enable Sify to provide On-Demand Hosting (Cloud) Services to end-customers using the industry VMware vSphere 4 platform.
Sify has joined the global VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP), designed for service providers who offer On-Demand cloud services giving them the option to ‘rent’ VMware software licenses on a monthly ‘pay as you go’ basis.
P J Nath, Executive President, Enterprise Business, Sify said, “Our partnership with VMware enables us to offer Public, Private and Hybrid cloud to VMware customers for their Primary, Disaster Recovery (DR) or Business Continuity Program (BCP) proposition. The partnership also enables Sify to achieve certification and expertise on virtualisation technology powered by VMware. This will give confidence to our customers that Sify Cloud Offerings are compliant for interoperability, quality, availability and security."
T Srinivasan, Managing Director, VMware India & SAARC said, “With VSPP, we enable our partners like Sify to offer solutions that provide cost-effective, cloud-based virtualised infrastructure that meet the specific needs of their clients of all sizes through a simplified, easily accessible service model. This partnership will create new opportunities for them to offer virtualisation enabled solutions, applications and services for their customers and sets the foundation for greater profitability and success."
The VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP) is a cornerstone of the VMware’s vCloud initiative. The VMware vCloud initiative brings together virtualisation solutions from VMware with a robust ecosystem of technology and cloud service providers. The initiative is designed to enable compatibility for all applications running in the cloud, whether on or off premise.
The VSPP is designed to enable IT service-provider partners solution providers who offer cloud-based IT services to customers outside their traditional data centres to leverage the VMware platform, including VMware vSphere 4, to offer external IT infrastructures for customers so they can increase or reduce compute capacity based on business demands.
