Sify Technologies Signs Up With Cisco To Launch Managed Services

Sify Technologies, a player in the consumer Internet and enterprise services space, has announced the launch of Managed MPLS Service and Managed Internet Service as part of the Cisco Managed Services Channel Program (MSCP). This service is the first of a series of managed services that Sify Technologies plans to launch over the next two years.

The Managed MPLS Service will provide solutions with end-to-end service assurance to enterprises for their business-critical networks. The services are a part of Sify’s strategy to migrate from TDM to IP-based network services and introduce a full suite of managed services for Indian enterprises.

“Sify’s aim is to move beyond network management to offer converged application services on business-critical networks as an end-to-end managed services provider for Indian enterprises. The Cisco Tier 1 certification is a step in that direction, for it re-inforces our MPLS network and service offerings capabilities to our customers. It also enables us to provide a host of new managed services offerings that will help our customers transform their businesses,” said P J Nath, executive president, Enterprise Services, Sify Technologies.

Nath added, “Our customers will now have access to services using the latest technologies on a leasing model i.e. on an OPEX model as opposed to investing in CAPEX. They will be able to manage their internal IT resources and investments better and can focus on IT strategy and not have to invest in IT integration.”

Rajesh Chainani, operations director of service providers for Cisco India and SAARC said, “We would like to congratulate Sify on achieving the Tier 1 certification for Cisco’s MSCP program. We are confident that Sify will be able to extend the benefits of this program to its enterprise customers while delivering a quality managed services experience.”

The launch of these services follows the Tier 1 MSCP certification for Sify Technologies from Cisco for their network and service capabilities. The certification places it in a league of operators that are endorsed for carrier-class MPLS networks and enterprise-class MPLS service capabilities.

The Cisco Tier 1 MSCP certification is based on rigorous third party audit that covers various aspects of the MPLS Service, including network architecture, network engineering capabilities, the security on network and service providing capabilities and processes.

Over the next two years, Sify will start offering a wide range of managed, IP-based services in a phased manner. These services will enable enterprises to outsource some of their IP communication services with investment protection and scalability.
