SAP Enhances Business Intelligence With New Solution

SAP AG has announced SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, new software that empowers business users with the clarity and insight to act quickly and make effective decisions. SAP BusinessObjects Explorer brings together search and navigation capabilities from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio with SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator (SAP NetWeaver BW Accelerator) software, enabling customers to navigate mountains of business data at the speed of thought.

The new solution delivers the largest combination of SAP and Business Objects technology to date. With an Internet-style search box as its interface, it is designed for users without any prior IT expertise. Anyone can now explore and retrieve business information through simple keyword searches. The overall experience is as simple as browsing the Internet or an online store and appealing to users, who are not currently served by Business Intelligence (BI) tools.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

“Given the current economic reality, it is critical for companies to have easy access to accurate information and gain immediate insight into their business and stay ahead of the competition. No longer will critical business information be elusive—SAP BusinessObjects Explorer represents the next generation of BI in which any business user can find the data needed to contribute to his or her organisation’s success,” said Simon Dale, senior vice president and head, Business User Organization, SAP Asia Pacific and Japan.

SAP BusinessObjects Explorer also helps improve efficiency for IT organisations by providing self-service access to information, freeing up IT time and resources to work on more strategic projects. SAP partners Intel and Adobe have contributed enabling technology to SAP BusinessObjects Explorer.

Availability

SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, accelerated version for SAP NetWeaver BW, is planned to be available during summer 2009. The solution will also be packaged and available through the Best-Run Now initiative from SAP. The package, called ‘SAP BusinessObjects Explorer’, will be available globally and is designed to meet the needs of diverse lines of business and industries.
