The Samsung interactive e-board model, 650TS, has built-in PC with embedded windows XPP to remote access and manage content directly on the display and built in speaker. It comes with a dummy pen and web cam to enhance student teacher interactivity. The performance of the Samsung 650TS is further enhanced by the dedicated educational products and software, direct access to content library and note taking features on video and flash animations.

In addition, Samsung Smart Class solutions also include application location, curriculum planning, learning management systems and mapping question banks on the GALAXY Tab. The convergence of the class syllabi on the Tab allows the teacher to manage his or her class, plan education content, use various education aids and maintain a question bank on the Tab itself. Similarly, under the Smart Student program, the Tab equips the student to keep abreast with the course content on the Tab and access content through school intranet.

The company’s offerings for the education vertical are categorized into:

  • Smart Classroom with large format displays for showcasing digital content in the classroom
  • Smart Teacher, wherein teachers through the GALAXY Tab can maintain course curriculum, plan attendance, access school intranet for content
  • Smart Student, wherein students through their GALAXY Tab can access course syllabi, digital content over school intranet
  • Smart School solution for students in professional colleges, namely NotePCs and Thin Clients

“In 2011, we plan to move the IT B2B business to the next level by having a comprehensive product offering across Mobility, Display, Computing and Printing segments that should help us notch up sales of USD 100 million across the various verticals that we are targeting. The education sector should contribute around 25% to our B2B business in the Mobile & IT business this year,” said Ranjit Yadav, Country Head – Mobile and IT, Samsung India Electronics.
