Pune-based Sai Prasad Foods (SPFL), a supplier and manufacturer of daily-consumed food products with a turnover of over Rs100 crore, has recently completed the implementation of Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Grower Management in its corporate office, manufacturing and food processing facilities covering 55 branches across 13 states in India.
The company, which markets the ‘Jayaka’ and ‘Feel Good’ brand of food products, chose to replace its legacy ERP system with Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to allow SPFL quick access to data on crop and harvest identification for each block of land.
With JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Grower Management, SPFL is also able to maintain historical records, track operational costs, and maintain harvest estimates for supply planning. They are able to plan and manage all farming activities more efficiently from pre-planting to post-harvest clean-up.
SYSTIME, a Certified Advantage Partner and Oracle PartnerNetwork member, played a crucial role as the implementation partner, having completed the implementation in 130 days.
SYSTIME’s project management and technical skills contributed to the smooth implementation at SPFL.
Benefits Reaped
With the transition to Oracle Applications, SPFL now has better ability to better manage collection processing, marketing and distribution of agriculture and food products, thereby enabling greater operational, supply chain and business efficiencies.
The company has seen a reduction in waste and implementation of a smart distribution process for finished products, which has done away with the enormous paper work and duplication of entries that were previously required by the legacy system.
Decision-making capability of senior management has been enhanced and SPFL has seen improvement in crop utilisation rates and margins with data automation that provides visibility into forecasts of yields, costs, and quality of harvested crops.
The JD Edwards Enterprise One 8.12 modules deployed by Sai Prasad Foods include Financials Management, Sales and Distribution Management, Oracle Inventory Management, Manufacturing Management, Quality Management and Grower Management.
