Reliance Communications Brings Application Aware Network Service To India

Reliance Communications has expanded its Application Aware Network service to India. This will enable Indian enterprises to upgrade to an intelligent network that speeds up application performance for increased business efficiency. The service has been launched in partnership with Riverbed.

The Application Aware Network provides visibility and control of application performance across networks and increases WAN capacity by using traffic optimisation technologies. Some key areas of impact include accelerated application performance, increased employee productivity while reducing IT costs, facilitating prioritisation of business critical applications, reduced bandwidth utilisation and consistent monitoring and optimum utilisation of enterprise network.

“As large enterprises need to support a geographically dispersed workforce and a greater number of users and devices accessing applications across their network, the objective is to improve the user experience,” said Mr. Punit Garg, CEO, Global Enterprise Business, Reliance Communications. “With Reliance’s Application Aware Network, enterprises can enjoy improved employee productivity, insights into their WAN and application performance, and reduced IT costs,” he added.

This Next Generation intelligent network delivers maximum WAN value, accelerated application performance, total network visibility and an effective solution for data centre consolidation. As a managed service, Application Aware Network is a cost-effective and high value service with virtual plug-and-play installation.

The service is supported by a dedicated global Center of Excellence, staffed by certified application analysts, experienced through supporting global customers.

The Application Aware Network service eliminates enterprises’ concerns about technology obsolescence, system upgrades and ongoing cost of manpower to manage complex network infrastructure. The fully managed, 24x7 service offering will allow customer to focus on core business whilst Reliance focuses on delivering the highest levels of service.

“Over the past 18 months, Riverbed has witnessed substantial growth in the number of our clients who look to Service Providers to provide WAN optimisation and acceleration as part of a managed service, bundled with other network oriented services,” said John Shoop, VP Global Service Providers and System Integrators, Riverbed.
