Red Hat, Inc. has announced two key executive appointments, aimed at strengthening its operations in India. The company appointed Anuj Kumar as the new Country General Manager and Jagjit Singh Arora as Director, Enterprise Sales.
A Red Hat veteran of over ten years, Anuj Kumar will oversee Red Hat’s India operations from a strategic and sales perspective. In his previous role as General Manager, Red Hat Middle East and Africa, Kumar was responsible for expanding the business in that region, growing Red Hat’s regional partner network to 300 resellers. He has been closely working with the open source communities, evangelists and policy makers across the Middle East and Africa.
Jagjit Singh Arora comes with over 14 years of IT industry experience with stints at IBM, NetApp, Xerox Corp, and CMS Computers in the past. Prior to his move to Red Hat, Arora was Global Client Director at Datacraft India Ltd (A Dimension Data Group Company).
“India is extremely strategic in our global growth story. With these appointments, Red Hat has underlined its India focus and its commitment to the market,” said Dirk-Peter van Leeuwen, vice president, Red Hat Asia Pacific.
“Open source has seen solid traction with enterprises in India. Not only has the Indian government been at the forefront of adopting open source technologies, but Indian enterprises too have been avid users of open source software for mission-critical purposes,” noted Kumar. He adds, “India’s strong engineering credentials has made it an active contributor to the open source development engine. We look forward to working with the community and enterprises to take open source development and adoption to the next level in India.”
