Radware, a provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, has announced that ibibo, a dotcom based in India, has successfully deployed Radware’s intelligent Application Delivery Controller (ADC) solution, AppDirector 1000 at different data centres in Delhi and Mumbai. This will ensure the high availability, performance and security of ibibo network systems.
ibibo Web, an Internet-based social media business, was founded in August 2006 and has grown consistently since then. Faced with increasing network usage and rising network issues including overload, uneven traffic distribution and server instability, ibibo identified the need for load balancing of internal applications along with Internet facing web servers. The key requirement was that source and destination servers both needed to be in the same vlan/subnet. Therefore, ibibo needed a solution to handle this type of load balancing without the administrative burdens that tend to result from this. Additionally, another key requirement was the need to have health monitoring on any desired TCP/UDP port and the generation of an alert in case service went down.
With the installation of Radware’s AppDirector 1000 platforms, ibibo realised substantial performance improvement with the option to schedule the maintenance of servers without any impact to the end user. In addition to delivering high availability, ibibo selected Radware’s solution based on other parameters such as features to work in active/active mode, GUI, administrative-friendly, certification training offered by Radware and local expertise.
“With Radware’s solution, we are able to provide continuous availability of Web servers to Internet users even while conducting server maintenance,” stated Dinesh Kumar Aggarwal, lead- Networking of ibibo. “The most important factor has been the support we get from local Radware representatives for design and deployment. This has helped us tremendously in solving many issues specific to our environment.”
AppDirector uses advanced Layer 4-7 policies with advanced health checking capabilities based on HTTP and URL, and granular application intelligence - to eliminate traffic surges, server bottlenecks, connectivity disconnects and downtime - to assure full application access, continuity and redundancy of ibibo’s infrastructure.
Nikhil Taneja, country manager of Radware, India and SAARC, said, “Companies like ibibo understand the importance of aligning network infrastructure with business priorities. We look forward to helping them achieve greater application performance and business continuity, thus, improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.”
