Polaris Software Lab, a specialty application developer for the BFSI sector, has announced the launch of an Insurance Concept Lab in partnership with Microsoft. Established in Polaris’ campus in Chennai, this Concept Lab is aimed at building innovative solutions for the insurance industry in Microsoft technologies.
The Insurance Concept Lab at Polaris is aimed at improving customer acquisition, customer retention, operational excellence and performance monitoring of insurance organisations. Polaris has solution showcases for each of these parameters that influence the insurance business. There are six solution showcases currently that address the above areas.
The Sales Agent Portal that is built using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is a key solution that will enhance the operational excellence by 15 percent as per company claims. An Insurance Lead Management Framework is also available as part of the solution. The Insurance Performance Dashboard built using the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Business Intelligence stack and Microsoft Office Performance Point Server helps the senior management to take decisions much faster. They can take a call by seeing all the data they require in one dashboard rather than inferring from multiple reports.
This Insurance Concept Lab constitutes domain experts, solution architects and technology specialists from Polaris. This initiative leverages Polaris’ association with Microsoft to build next-generation insurance solutions in the latest Microsoft technologies like Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Microsoft Office Performance Point Server, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
S R Ramaswami, executive vice president and head – Insurance and Testing, Polaris Software Lab, said, “This launch comes close on the heels of Polaris’ acquisition of SEEC, which has the ACORD-compliant library of software components. Insurance industry is increasing the direct connect with people in addition to intermediary channels. In this direction, the Insurance Concept Lab of Polaris in collaboration with Microsoft is an enabler and key initiative.”
Rajiv Srivastava, general manager, Enterprise, Microsoft India said, “In the current economic climate, BFSI companies in India are looking for customer facing solutions that can help them increase customer loyalty and enhance the multi-channel user experience. This joint initiative will bring great value to the insurance sector by helping the BFSI companies derive business value and realise returns on their investments in a matter of months and not years.”
