Intel Capital has appointed Sudheer Kuppam as the managing director for India, Japan, Australasia and South-East Asia. Kuppam was formerly the director of Intel Capital’s Flash Memory and Semiconductor sector.
As Intel Capital managing director for India, Japan, Australasia and South-East Asia, Kuppam will be responsible for leading Intel Capital’s investment strategies and expansion plans, including placement of the US $250 million Intel Capital India Technology Fund.
Announcing the appointment, Arvind Sodhani, president, Intel Capital, stated, “Sudheer’s appointment is a reflection of Intel Capital’s sustained commitment to supporting technology innovation in Asia Pacific. Under Sudheer’s leadership, Intel Capital will continue to enable technology entrepreneurship through venture investment activity.”
Kuppam joined Intel Capital in 2000 and was responsible for formulating investment strategies covering semiconductors, nanotechnology, memory and reconfigurable logic; and aligning Intel Capital’s investment strategies in these areas with those of Intel Corporation’s corresponding business units.
