Oracle has announced Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c the industry’s first solution to combine management of the full Oracle stack with complete enterprise cloud lifecycle management. Building on its business-driven IT management approach, the Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c enables better business-IT integration. It allows IT organisations to increase efficiency and responsiveness while reducing costs and complexity for traditional data centers, virtualised, and cloud computing environments.
Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c delivers a new architectural framework that enables highly integrated lifecycle management and automation capabilities. It introduces more than 200 new features and 500 enhancements designed to transform today’s data centers into fully integrated and automated clouds.
Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c offers a single, integrated console for testing, deploying, operating, monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting, today’s complex IT environments. It offers a simple, scalable solution for running Oracle stack, from applications to disk, in cloud environments. It manages everything in enterprise datacenter - from the hypervisor to the operating system, database, and application tier.
While Oracle Enterprise Manager offers a broad range of capabilities out-of-box, it is an extensible platform; while customers get comprehensive management for Oracle technology, there are connectors and plug-ins as well to integrate with third-party systems. The plug-ins can manage third party IT components such as Cisco and Juniper firewall and Netapp storage, while the connectors enable Enterprise Manager to share information with other management systems like IBM Tivoli, CA Unicenter and HP Openview.
Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c brings together management capabilities for the entire cloud lifecycle through Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, its new centralised console.
Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control is the only cloud management console for Oracle that allows cloud stakeholders to create rich business services consisting of any combination of infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) – including database as a service (DBaaS) and middleware as a service (MWaaS) - and software as a service (SaaS).
Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control provides wizard-driven, role-based capabilities for all stakeholders involved in planning, deploying, managing and consuming an enterprise cloud. Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c supports enterprise architects, cloud administrators, application developers and administrators, DBAs, line of business users and governance and finance personnel. Its Key capabilities include cloud planning tools, automatic set-up of shared pools and system resources, built-in self-service and comprehensive metering and chargeback.
