Oracle Introduces Gadget Wizard For Google Apps

Oracle has announced the Oracle Gadget Wizard for Google Apps and support for Google’s Secure Data Connector with the debuts of Siebel CRM support for Google Apps and Oracle Gadget Wizard for Google Apps.

The close collaboration between Oracle and Google enables customers to build and deploy Oracle gadgets in Google sites allowing easy and seamless scaling of applications to several users without the worry about infrastructure management.

Oracle’s Siebel CRM applications can interact with the Google cloud in a secure and flexible manner through Google Secure Data Connector, opening the door to the delivery of next-generation SaaS applications that do not impact existing resources and include multi-tenancy support to securely access corporate data from behind firewalls.

Now corporations can connect selected data elements from within their enterprise with Oracle’s gadgets on their Google Sites. With the Oracle Gadget Wizard for Google Apps, users can easily build gadgets without any prior programming knowledge. This promotes the development of gadgets that leverage Oracle CRM and will foster the development of gadgets leveraging Oracle CRM, providing customers and partners an opportunity to build new mobile or gadget applications and quickly get new features out to customers.

“We are thrilled to work with Oracle and break new ground with SaaS applications that are cost-effective, reliable, and cutting-edge,” said Rajen Sheth, senior product manager, Google Apps. “Working together we will provide organisations with the benefits of Oracle’s CRM applications, combined with the collaboration and productivity gains companies see with Google Apps.”

Google’s Secure Data Connector is instrumental in connecting data from behind the company firewall to Web-based apps and gadgets that exist in the cloud, said Mark Woollen, vice president of Social CRM at Oracle. “We’re excited to see Google provide an open, standards-based environment that makes it easy for developers to create new cloud-based applications that are capable of interacting in real-time with Oracle’s Siebel CRM in an on-premise environment. This connects Siebel CRM to the cloud in a flexible yet encrypted manner, enabling the Google Secure Data Connector to be another valuable tool for innovation for our customers.”
