Nirula's Uses SAP To Spice Up Offerings

Nirula’s, a pioneer in the family-style restaurant business in India, has consolidated its business processes onto a single SAP platform. Nirula’s adopted the SAP solution to innovate, assess and re-define its business model faster in order to maintain its position in the market. Adopting SAP for consumer products is expected to fuel Nirula’s growth by enabling greater enterprise-wide visibility, improved operating margins, and process transparency, whilst strengthening stakeholder, customer and partner relationships.

In the past 75 years, Nirula’s has constantly re-invented itself and experimented with different retail formats to increase market penetration in the north of India. However, the pressures of the present economic scenario on an already low-margin food industry have encouraged this hospitality chain to reduce costs and improve business processes.

“We are glad to be associated with SAP. The food industry is constantly evolving and we, at Nirula’s, required a technological partner to enable us to adapt to the changing circumstances,” said Samir Kuckreja, CEO and MD, Nirulas. “The creation of the online platform has given us greater visibility into cash flows from procurement to sales. We now have increased clarity into food preferences across each of our restaurants. As a result, we can stock our restaurants suitably and drive promotions accordingly at each outlet.”

“Our pre-configured solution ‘Zen Gourmet’ built on the SAP platform has provided Nirula’s with a system that is scalable and reliable and enables the organisation to derive immediate business benefits. As a part of our extended programme, post this implementation, we will continue to support our users to ensure that we bring innovation and improvement in the business process and ensure value for the customer,” said Prakash Tripathi, vice president, Global Sales and Marketing, Zensar-OBT Technologies.
