Net4 India, an IP communications services and solutions company, has launched subscription-based messaging and collaborative services offerings built on Microsoft’s Exchange platform for business customers. With this, Net4 India will provide a broad range of services right from basic e-mail to hosting additional storage, personal domains, calendars and tasks. The services will be offered to enterprises, small and medium businesses (SMBs), small office/home office (SOHO) businesses, and individual consumers.
The Microsoft Hosted Messaging and Collaborative (HMC) solution works on a pay-as-you-go and zero investment model, thus providing enterprises and SMBs with an enterprise–class applications hosting platform without any up-front costs along with productivity benefits.
Jasjit Sawhney, chairman and MD, Net4 India, said, “The economic slowdown has fueled the demand for software-as-a-service model among Indian enterprises and SMBs. We are proud to offer the Microsoft-based messaging and collaboration software in India on a hosted model. Microsoft Hosted Exchange will provide more choice, flexibility and affordability to customers since they will not have to invest in licences, hardware, installing and managing the software in-house. With this, we hope to expand our client base across tier 1 and tier 2 cities in the country. The hosted Microsoft exchange service shall be backed by Net4’s state-of-the-art data centres and STM8 Internet backbone connectivity.”
Moorthy K Uppaluri, general manager, Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE), Microsoft India, said, “Customers find value in a combination of software plus services delivered via the Internet, thus making owning and managing IT more affordable and convenient. We believe that this new offering from Net4 will provide ample value to customers looking to leverage technology to provide high productivity while ensuring lower spends.”
“We shall continue to work closely with Microsoft in the near future to bring a wider range of hosted applications to the Indian market,” concluded Sawhney.
