Tektronix, a provider of test and measurement solutions, has announced that NDTV and BAG Films have successfully deployed its video test and monitoring solutions. The two firms purchased WFM6120 Waveform Monitors, SPG600 Sync Pulse Generators, WVR6020 Rasterisers and ECO422D SD/HD Sync Changeover Units. The new instruments are an integral part of the transition to digital video underway in India.
Commenting on the deployment of Tektronix solutions, Dinesh Singh, head – Broadcast and Technology Operations, NDTV Group, said, “We found a rare combination of ‘high precision’ and ’easy to use’ in the Tektronix instruments and software deployed at NDTV. The patented diamond display feature on the WFM6120 Waveform Monitors simplifies monitoring issues in the video testing process and the acclaimed Stay GenLock feature in the SPG600 helps to ensure service quality for customers.”
Suraj Pal, vice president for technology, BAG Films and Media, said, “We have chosen Tektronix video test and monitoring tools to attain assured quality in our video transmission and production. We have file based workflow and need to keep video signals within legal PAL colour limits both immediately before acquisition and after final playout. We are extensively using the diamond display in our production control chain to effectively keep video signals best suited to the DVB chain. The result is impressive.”
Shrinath Kulkarni, sales director, Tektronix India, said, “The choosing of Tektronix by NDTV and BAG Films points to the growing importance of digital video technologies. We look forward to playing an important role in enabling Indian entertainment/ broadcast companies deliver high quality end solutions and services.”
