NDS Launches VideoGuard Express

NDS,a provider of technology solutions for digital pay-TV has launched VideoGuard Express, a new solution for the Indian cable TV market. Ready for easy deployment, the system is pre-integrated with a set top box and an electronic programme guide (EPG).

According to Sue Taylor, VP and GM, NDS Asia Pacific, “Many cable operators across India are looking for a CAS solution they can implement now to support their pay TV business and comply with government regulations to deploy CAS. VideoGuard gives a low-cost solution now, and an upgrade path for operators to implement new features and services in the future.”

VideoGuard Express builds on NDS proven conditional access technology for pay TV. The system includes the VideoGuard Express head end and patented smart card technology. It incorporates a convenient upgrade path to implement MediaHighway middleware, enabling advanced pay TV and interactive services including NDS fully customisable EPG, call centre based pay-per-view (OPPV) and NVOD.
