Midmark Deploys Mobile Supply Chain To Improve Inventory Management

Midmark Corporation has deployed mobile supply chain across its manufacturing operations with TAKE’s enterprise mobility portfolio of solutions, to improve inventory management and reduce out-of-box failures.

TAKE’s mobility portfolio along with the existing Oracle E-Business Suite application, has given Midmark the control and visibility into real-time inventory to reduce out-of-the box failures directly from handheld scanners on the shop floor. Midmark plans to roll-out a second of three deployments by early 2012.

“One of the factors for selecting TAKE was because of their flexibility and support of our existing Oracle system. Using the solutions, we have been able to meet the need of floor operations and give them the full ability to use handheld scanners to collect data, gain inventory access and perform transactions such as accurate label printing, all in real-time. We’ve resolved the primary concern of shipping incorrect quantity or parts to customers worldwide,” he added.

Midmark deployed TAKE Solutions’ Gemini and Compliance Label Manager solution suites to provide mobile data collection using wireless scanning devices, increasing the availability of real-time information on receiving, shipping, and inventory activity across its supply chain. Pick Confirm scanning functionalities helped parcel shipping eliminate manual picking errors of incorrect product and quantities, reducing out-of-the-box failures by 75 percent within a month of implementation.

Coupled with Pick Confirm, Move Order functionalities help floor operations accurately transact material movement within Midmark’s manufacturing facilities to shipping locations around the world, establishing verification and product scanning procedures, improving cycle-time and ensuring appropriate delivery on all transactions. Label manager helps ensure accurate product identification and real-time label printing via wireless printers on the shop floor.
