Mid-Market Segment Key Focus For Comparex India

![](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/media/images/2011/Nov/img_113242_comparex_190x95.jpg) Over a month into its acquisition of Indian technology services firm, IRIS Unified Technology, the Germany based IT Services provider, Comparex Group has laid out its strategy to capture the domestic Indian market. A key focus area for the new entity, Comparex India (IRIS post acquisition by Comparex Group operates under the Comparex brand), will be the IT infrastructure and datacenter segments, leveraging Comparex’s specialisation in core infrastructure.

Comparex Group’s CEO, Dr Klaus Elsbacher, on his recent visit to India to meet partners and customers and introduce Comparex India, stressed on the company’s plan to aggressively target the mid market segment while also going after the larger enterprises, especially in the financial services and the telecom sector as well as the government. The company has specialised solutions for the mid market segment.

The acquisition provides Comparex a footprint into the Indian market, a key target market in the Group’s growth strategy. With IRIS bringing along its existing customer base this provides a strong ground for Comparex to expand in the Indian market. On the other hand, for IRIS this provides an opportunity to grow beyond its traditional strength in North India and expand on Pan-India and target the entire domestic opportunity more effectively.

According to Navin Kapur, Managing Director, Comparex India, customers in India are increasingly looking for services that are of global standards, however, most Indian IT services companies are focusing on the overseas market. “Here through Comparex we have the opportunity of bringing to the domestic customers the global standard services,” he adds.

Comparex had earlier entered the Indian market in May with a green field set-up, a subsidiary called PC Ware India. However, as Dr. Elsbacher points out, a faster growth in the Indian market required them to acquire an Indian company. “IRIS’ strength in the Northern region of the domestic market and its IT service offerings made it a good fit into Comparex’s strategy,” he adds.

Comparex Group’s portfolio comprises of three pillars – software, consulting and licensing.
