Micro Technologies (India) recently announced the Micro Wi-Fi Security System (WSS), which was launched by Vijay Mukhi, e-security consultant.
Mukhi said, “Today, security is no longer confined to the domain of physical security. e-Security has gained an increased importance. Wi-Fi technology is widely used today and has even found ground among terrorists. Therefore, a technology like ‘Micro Wi-Fi’ is relevant and will help to curb such crimes”.
He added, “With foreign multinationals migrating to India to spread their businesses, this security system will find a good market in the country. The increased reliance on technology will highlight the need and importance of such a security system.”
Micro WSS is downloadable software, which works in the stealth mode. It allows the administrator to monitor the activity of the user and provide information about Wi-Fi access through the authorised Web account. Micro WSS automatically detects the change of security settings and warns the Wi-Fi user and sends the details on to the server level Secured Web Account of the user. In an unsecured/secured WLAN, Micro WSS can detect any addition of a user and also sends alert e-mail containing the IP and MAC address assigned to the machine and the user respectively. The user can be identified using the MAC address and relatively the administrator can identify the router details, which the user has accessed.
Micro WSS also maintains a track of user activities in a computer with a facility of sending regular updates like individual file and the time of access and changes made to each file to authorised individuals. Micro WSS can both monitor e-communications based on keywords and phrases.
