Memopal has announced the release of ‘Memopal Cloud Search’, a new tool that simplifies and speeds up online file search. Searching dozens and dozens of folders in remote archives to find the document one needs out of hundreds of thousands of other files may be difficult and time consuming.
‘Memopal Cloud Search’ makes searching in remote archives easier and increases search speed, letting users enjoy all the advantages of how they usually organise files and folders on their computer. In fact, Memopal has applied the Grid Computing concepts used by leading search engines to online backup. This improves indexing and searching is faster. Memopal claims it can search a 2 million file archive in under 50 milliseconds.
Memopal has also implemented efficient result ranking techniques to display the user’s most important files first. The Memopal algorithm is based on a few simple principles: it gives priority to the most important file extensions (calculated according to a monthly statistical index). It highlights the documents most frequently used and calculates the level of proximity of the file to the storage path.
Memopal has designed an intuitive and immediate search results display system that shows image and video document previews and creates shortcuts to immediately access the user’s ‘favourite’ files. If you use more than one computer, Memopal can be installed on each one (up to a maximum of 10) with a single personal license. Once all computer files are synchronised online, users can find files in less than 50 milliseconds.
Memopal is continually evolving and has already planned the release of semantic search in saved files.
