Maveric Systems, a software testing company with a strong presence across the UK, USA, Middle East and Indian markets, has announced a tie-up with IIT Madras Research Park. Through this collaboration, Maveric Systems will invest one million dollars (over a span of three years) in research to create proprietary intellectual property in test design to consolidate its position in the testing domain.
V N Mahesh, executive director, Maveric Systems, said, “Maveric Systems has set itself an aggressive goal of generating 30 percent of revenues from IP-based services by 2012. This alliance will help us further accelerate our research and development to achieve this goal. Tying up with one of India’s premier institutes – IIT Madras – boosts our commitment to provide an efficient software testing platform for the future.”
“The IIT Madras Research Park is a pioneering initiative to co-locate about 100 companies with IIT Madras in order to give R&D and innovation a significant thrust through industry-academia collaboration. In the software testing space, we see immense potential in fostering and participating in various research initiatives outlined by Maveric, and value their presence as an important partner in building the innovation ecosystem at the Research Park,” said Dr Sandhya Shekhar, CEO, IIT Madras Research Park.
This partnership is expected to provide impetus to a slew of initiatives aimed at ‘quality and productivity’ improvement being planned by the Automation and Functional Centres of Excellence (CoEs) within Maveric. A dedicated 40 member team will be housed within a 5,000 sq ft facility at the Research Park. This team is expected to work closely with the finest minds from academia through a combination of research projects, consultancy, student sponsorship and joint IP development activities to create innovative IP that gets recognised globally.
