Mahindra Satyam, an engineering and IT services provider, has announced a global alliance partnership with Galorath Incorporated, a provider of estimation solutions, called the SEER solutions. This partnership shall focus on the “SEER for Manufacturing” solution in order to provide Should Costing solutions to discrete manufacturing companies across industry domains like Aerospace, Industrial, Energy & Automotive verticals.
Should Costing is a systematic methodology for cost modeling and benchmarking that brings in required transparency in the cost structure of a product. Additionally, this enables a manufacturer to investigate cost optimisation through efficient supply chain, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques. Manufacturing companies have typically realised 20-30 percent reduction in their cost budgets through should cost estimation.
Through this alliance partnership, Galorath and Mahindra Satyam will complement each other’s strengths to provide Should Costing consulting solutions to customers based upon the estimation strengths within the “SEER for Manufacturing” solution. To this effect, Galorath and Mahindra Satyam have already started delineating a joint Go-to Market plan to tap into this market.
Galorath’s “SEER for Manufacturing” solution contains a comprehensive knowledge base of manufacturing processes covering state of practice and good metallic, non-metallic, electronic fabrication and assembly processes, including machining, fabrication, welding, PCB & electrical assemblies, as well as the industry’s comprehensive knowledge base for composites processes. This will help Mahindra Satyam’s cost estimation processes become more robust and comprehensive, as well as help address opportunities across a wide spectrum of industry domains.
“We are extremely pleased to have SEER for Manufacturing utilised by Mahindra Satyam in their offering of its Should Cost analysis services,” stated Dan Galorath, Galorath’s President and CEO, Galorath Incorporated. “Mahindra Satyam possesses highly qualified employees who are extremely capable in performing Should Cost estimating services utilising SEER and enable us to collectively assist clients in obtaining fair prices for the fabrication of their designs.”
“We are delighted to have Galorath as our Strategic Alliance Partner,” said Karthikeyan Natarajan, Global Head and Senior Vice President, Integrated Engineering Solutions Business, Mahindra Satyam. “This tie-up will enable us to leverage the growing market for Should Costing solutions. Our customers continuously face cost pressures across their supply chain. This partnership with Galorath will help us leverage the SEER solution to reduce product development cost for our customers, thereby helping them launch cost competitive products.”
