Juniper Networks, the network innovator, has announced that it has supplied fast-growing Lanco Infratech with a complete campus and data center network infrastructure for the new head office of its Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Division in Gurgaon. By deploying the Juniper Networks Simply Connected portfolio, which includes switching, wireless LAN, security and management devices, LANCO EPC can improve business performance with a new high-performance, highly secure, reliable and manageable network.
The new LANCO EPC Head Office can accommodate up to 2,000 staff and a DC that supports SAP enterprise management systems, resource-intensive heavy construction design applications and unified communications.
Juniper Networks EX8208 Ethernet Switches form a highly resilient network core, with a high-density of non-blocking Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10GbE ports enabling direct attachment of servers and access switches, resulting in very low network latency.
The access layer is provided by Juniper Networks EX4200 Ethernet Switches with Virtual Chassis fabric technology. The EX4200 switches provide large numbers of wire-speed GbE access ports – including Power over Ethernet where needed – to support workstations and IP phones. The Virtual Chassis technology allows up to 10 interconnected switches to be operated and managed as a single, logical device.
A Juniper Networks WLC800R Wireless LAN Controller and WLA522 Wireless LAN Access Points provide pervasive and secure 802.11n wireless connectivity throughout the building.
The Juniper Networks SRX650 Services Gateways provide robust and comprehensive security to LANCO Infratech’s corporate wide area network.
The Juniper Networks NSMXpress appliance, with its web-based interface, enables LANCO network administrators to create a centralised set of network and IT security policies that are enforced across the new campus.
“We spent six months carrying out a detailed evaluation of proposals from various leading network vendors and system integrators and came to the clear conclusion that Juniper Networks’ solution is superior in almost every respect. We have an extremely robust 10 Gbps network core with an upgrade path up to 100 Gbps if and when we ever need it; a carrier-grade access network with seamless security across the wired and wireless segments; and a compelling improvement in total cost-of-ownership,” said Ajay K. Dhir, Group CIO, Lanco Infratech Ltd.
“LANCO Infratech knows all about robust, high-performance infrastructure that meets high technical standards while being kind to capital and operational budgets. We are naturally pleased that Juniper Networks has been selected by another fast-growing business group in India with our open, scalable and secure ‘wired-less’ solution being recognised as the network of choice for campus deployments,” said Ravi Chauhan, managing director, India & SAARC, Juniper Networks.
