KPIT Cummins Infosystems, a product engineering partner to manufacturing corporations, has announced that it has taken over a substantial part of the Mechanical Design Services business of Harita TVS Technologies (known as TVS-E Technologies in India).
With the addition of the Mechanical Design Engineering capability from Harita, KPIT Cummins strengthens its existing portfolio of Automotive Embedded and Mechanical Engineering services. It will now also offer integrated Mechanical Product Design, Development and Validation services to existing and new clients in the automotive and industrials vertical.
As a result of the acquisition deal, KPIT Cummins will add around 100 specialised employees from Harita TVS with core mechanical design competencies in product design and validation for automotive and industrials products and systems to its workforce. Harita TVS’ 20+ customers across North America, Europe and India will now transition to KPIT Cummins; however, some customers will continue to be supported by Harita. KPIT Cummins will now be able to add specialised mechanical design solutions in plastics, sheet-metals, castings and forgings for its automotive and industrials clients.

With the addition of mechanical design engineering services, we look forward to better address the needs of our customers, specifically in the automotive product design sector, contributing to a multitude of innovations in weight reduction, product life, ergonomics and also fuel efficiency. Together, we see a true synergy between the two companies for our employees and customers”.
Gopal Srinivasan, chairman of Harita TVS, said, “Mechanical Design Services transfer is an excellent strategic decision to scale up the business. We are sure that KPIT will enhance the existing opportunities for our customers in terms of new services and offerings to continue the work performed by our team.
