IT Convergence has standardised on Oracle VM for x86, Oracle VM Templates and Oracle Linux, for a datacenter re-design project with the goal of expanding innovation in the areas of availability and serviceability.
To lower costs associated with its physical infrastructure, and help ensure that its datacentres run in the most environmentally-sustainable and efficient manner possible, IT Convergence employed Oracle VM 2.2, Oracle Linux and a blade server-based architecture.
Using Oracle VM server virtualisation, IT Convergence consolidated the number of servers it uses to support its global client base by more than 70 percent and maintain the performance of its applications and systems.
“As a premier global provider of Oracle enterprise solutions, we are focused on helping our customers maximise their IT investments and resources,” said Gustavo Gonzalez, Director, IT Convergence. “To support our mission, it was critical that our own IT infrastructure was built to quickly deliver on ever-changing application requirements, in an environmentally sustainable and cost-effective manner. With Oracle Virtualisation products, we created an innovative, highly flexible and efficient IT infrastructure that can support our customers and future growth.”
Oracle VM enabled IT Convergence to accelerate the deployment and simplify the management of its extensive enterprise applications and systems portfolio that includes the Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Oracle Database, and Oracle Enterprise Manager, in addition to lowering cost and power consumption.
