Transglobal Beneficial, a provider of innovative health care solutions, has launched the India Health Card (IHC) in the country. Transglobal Beneficial is a company floated by NRIs from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka living in Texas.
T Venkateshwar(Raj) Goud, founder director and an NRI from Andhra Pradesh said, “India Health Card is a prepaid, reloadable healthcare card designed to provide access to quality health services for the beneficiaries of NRIs through an extensive network of medical, dental and other providers across India.”
India Health CardeHeal works similar to a debit card. NRIs first load funds onto the India Health Card through the Internet. The beneficiaries can then use India Health Card to receive healthcare services from any provider, who is a part of the designated healthcare network across India. If a patient’s provider is not a part of the India Health Card network, India Health Card will contact that provider and explain the simple, no-fee registration process. By using the card, beneficiaries will also receive quality service at a discounted rate, while ensuring timely payment to healthcare providers.
As India Health Card covers healthcare payments only, it helps prevent the unproductive expenditure of NRI remittances. NRI remittances are meant to improve living standards but are often allocated for unintended purposes according to a World Bank report. Currently, only 5 percent of the $29 billion in NRI remittances go towards healthcare-related costs.
“India Health Card is a result of our vision for the healthcare industry in India. Our research has demonstrated a need for innovative healthcare payment solutions,” said Dr Ravi Halekote, founder and CEO of India Health Card. “With a management team of veteran healthcare professionals and an established network of providers, we are delighted to launch India Health Card and help make healthcare more affordable and convenient to the families of NRIs in India. India Health Card also saves the trouble of delayed payments to a healthcare provider.”
The India Health Card can be purchased over the Internet and mailed to the beneficiary residing in India. In the next phase, this prepaid card will be made available at several brick-and-mortar locations.
