IBS Discusses Ti Dimensie Offering

Biztech 2.0 caught up with Kaustubh Choksi, CEO and co-founder of IBS, to discuss some important details concerning IBS Ti Dimensie offering, as also to throw some valuable insight on Shadow - IBS" Inventory Management System.

How is Ti Dimensie different from other smart cards?

Ti Dimensie is our loyalty card offering for retailers. Now the difference between Ti Dimensie and other “smart” cards is that it not only stores the customer points, but also information relevant to their spending trend. This is our value proposition. IBS is primarily an intelligence company. Through this offering, retailers can gain a valuable insight as to what their customers like and dislike.

Do neural networks play an important role in the prediction of these customer trends?

Neural Networks play a very important role in almost all our offerings. Ti Dimensie also incorporates the use of these networks. We have an idea of brands that a customer buys, and then using this information, the system deduces what kind of relevant preferences a customer can be given.

This is achieved by an application layer, which sits on top of the retailer"s current systems. The application layer is fed information from the card through POS/EPOS terminals, where transactions take place.

What kind of integration do you provide with Ti Dimensie, when it comes down to setting it up in a heterogeneous IT environment?

All of IBS" software is meant to seamlessly integrate with a company"s current IT infrastructure, so as to provide maximum functionality in a heterogeneous environment. As per our philosophy, we do not even ask our customers to get rid of any of their existing systems. We work around the same, and provide solutions that gel well with most products in the market.

Even, when we talk about Shadow, we have an integration and infrastructure services unit—IBS Bespoke Solutions—which makes sure that our offerings integrate with a companies existing infrastructure.

Could you throw some light on Shadow?

IBS calls the system a decision automation system, which assists in the advance forecasting of sales, enabling inventory decisions on the basis of the probable lead time in obtaining items, and careful monitoring of dispatches in order to meet delivery deadlines.

Apart from Inventory Management, we also have our Enterprise Management System (EMS) which provides good amount of industry specific functionality, scalability, flexibility, and online collaboration.

Have potential customers shown interest in Ti Dimensie, Shadow, and EMS?

Yes. We"re seeing a lot of interest from Indian companies, for both Ti Dimensie as well as Shadow. Ti Dimensie is more geared towards retailers, and we are also seeing interest on that front. With regards to EMS, we"ve already implemented the solution in a few Indian enterprises such as Pratham and Krysallis.

However, these products are relatively new, and we"re still involved in educating potential customers on their existence. We definitely hope to see more and more customers in this regard.
