IBM Builds Smarter Supply Chain For Amrit Feeds

IBM has announced that it has helped Amrit Feeds Ltd., one of India’s poultry, animal feed and dairy product company; remodel its sales order, forecasting, costing and manufacturing processes through implementation of an integrated SAP solution. Working with IBM, the company has eliminated separate, manual processes across locations and introduced organisation wide visibility of the entire supply chain process from poultry and dairy farms to individual institutional customers.

IBM’s solution, which included implementation of group-wide sales order forecasting, has helped Amrit Feeds cut product stock-out rates by 16 percent, improved capacity utilisation by 10 percent, and cut idle time across all processing plants by 15 percent. Further, the company was able to increase production throughput by 0.45 tons per hour.

As a part of this engagement, IBM performed a detailed qualitative and quantitative assessment of the company’s existing supply chain processes, and made key recommendations for an industry best-practice based SAP ERP deployment. The team also established key performance indicators to measure and track process improvements. Leveraging IBMs domain expertise, IBM team worked with Amrit Feeds to install and configure SAP ERP with applications for Finance, Controlling, Sales and Distribution, Materials Management, Production Planning, Quality Management, Human Resources and Payroll, as well as driving change management by facilitating smooth transition to the new SAP ERP solution.

“We are glad Amrit Feeds adopted this solution to help drive their accelerated growth. With our solution, the company has gained a highly efficient supply chain, increasing productivity and enabling a single, integrated view of operational data across all the operations. Our focus on driving an end-to-end seamless implementation – from planning to delivery and change management – was a critical part of our success, and our ability to achieve truly measurable improvements to business performance,” commented Sachin Seth, Partner & Geographic Expansion Leader, IBM, India / South Asia.
